Litha Ritual

Led by Irene Jericho, a High Priestess of the Tradition of the Witches Circle and member of Cassandra Syndrome, our Main Ritual is an all-music family-friendly experience. This chanted ritual will feature the purification of all participants by the Sun Dragon, followed by a blessing. Hand drummers are encouraged to bring drums for the ritual.

The chants we are using for the ritual will be played over the sound system to assist in good ritual flow, so don't worry if you don't know the melody. Scroll down to familiarize yourself with the chant order and ritual movement.

Sun Dragon enters the circle.  As the Dragon passes, participants place their paper into the bowl.  When the first circuit is complete, the Bowl Carrier covers the bowl with a dark cloth at the center of the circle.

The Dragon makes a second pass of the circle, this time handing out Blessing Beads and leads participants in a circle dance.

Blessings and Farewell

Circle Closing

The Circle, Circle is Open
But Never, Never Broken
The Circle is released

After the Circle is closed, the Bowl Carrier takes the bowl of impurities to the fire pit and sets it in the center.  That evening, the bowl will be burned in the fire.
